  • The Swire School of Design at Hong Kong Polytechnic originally began in 1967 as a department in the former Hong Kong Technical College

    In 1972, after the Polytechnic was established, the school was running two separate courses: a Two-year technician's diploma, and a Three-year higher diploma

    In addition to the full-time courses, the school offers Eight Part-time Evening courses for those who are working in the day and can only pursue studies in the evenings. The course in foundation design is offered at certificate level whereas the other Seven courses are offered at the Higher Certificate level. These higher certificate courses are for Two-Dimensional design, Three-Dimensional design, Applied photography, Studio Ceramics, Illustration, Jewellery and Creative Screen Printing
