About the Project

Dr Joseph S.P. Ting, is an eminent scholar of the history of Hong Kong, former Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of History. In 2014, he had been invited to be the Culture Promotion Committee member of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and was later appointed as the Historian-in-Residence for PolyU since 2018. The PolyU Library started the digital humanities project of “The Historian-in-Residence: Dr Joseph Ting” in 2020 to collect the Silk Road related talks, exhibition and study tours information that he had shared with the PolyU community through the years. So, the information in this project can be used for academic scholar research and reference by the public.

The content of this project is summarized as follows:
  • The exhibition materials of Historian-in-Residence Programme - A Journey along the Silk Road with Dr Joseph Ting (2019).
  • Summary of the talk and historical exploration that related to Silk Road between 2015 and 2019.
