  • The year 1982 marks the 10th Anniversary of the Hong Kong Polytechnic

    A series of ten 10th Anniversary public lectures on subjects of public interest were scheduled for the year and some of them have already been held

    Celebration activities were organised by the Students' Union in March 1982. The major event was the "Open Day" at which the former Governor, Sir Murray MacLehose (now Lord MacLehose) officiated on 5 March

    Two annual events were designated as part of the Polytechnic's celebration programme for the 10th Anniversary. These were the Annual Fashion Show of the Institute of Textiles and Clothing and the Polydesign Show of the Swire School of Design

    The former was presented by students of the Fashion and Clothing section of the Institute on 29 April at the Regent Hotel

    The latter was opened by Lady Youde on 29 June and ran from 30 June to 4 July in the campus

    The Polydesign Show covered major Higher Diploma areas of graphics, product, interior, textiles and fashion design and the broadbased work of the Diploma course
