Since the publication of the first consultancy booklet in 1993, the quantity of consultancy completed has multiplied. In terms of academic challenge, the Department has undertaken a considerable number of consultancy project in the areas of structural engineering, hydraulic engineering and environmental engineering. These projects include vibration studies of the Tsing Ma Bridge & Kap Shui Mun bridge, study of the offshore extreme wave conditions at the territory, enhancement of the WAHMO physical tidal model, contamination site investigation study, odour emission and environmental impact assessment for a petro-chemical factory, performance testing of landfill leachate lagoons and grease removal from sewerage systems by bioremediation agents
