Green Deck Project Development Study

banner

PolyU initiated the idea of decking over the Hung Hom Cross Harbour Tunnel Toll Plaza to address the existing problems faced by Hung Hom old district including insufficient public space, poor connectivity and poor air quality due to heavy traffic, and to bring long-term benefits to society. A preliminary feasibility study of the project was carried out in 2014 with encouraging findings. PolyU has then embarked on extensive community engagement programme and a wide range of related academic researches. The proposal garnered support from the communities and professional bodies alike. In 2020, PolyU successfully obtained funding from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust to carry out a project development study of the Green Deck to further develop the proposal for a sustainable green deck. This collection features key deliverables from the Green Deck project development study and related materials, making these valuable resources openly available for learning, teaching and research.
